MARKETING MANAGER

Job Description

Marketing Manager

Williamsport, Pennsylvania | On-site

Lead an experienced team. Shape a digital marketing evolution. Build toward broader leadership responsibility.

The Carlisle Group has been retained to identify a Marketing Manager for an established, privately held company serving libraries, educational institutions, and community organizations through a broad portfolio of products and services.

TCG has partnered with this organization for nearly four years, helping strengthen its leadership team through several key searches. Every leader we have placed remains with the company. That relationship gives us firsthand insight into its culture, leadership expectations, and commitment to helping new leaders succeed.

This opportunity brings together the stability of a respected business with the ability to influence how it reaches customers, measures marketing performance, and drives growth.

The Opportunity

As Marketing Manager, you will lead an established team of five marketing professionals while bringing stronger analytical discipline to campaigns, customer insights, and channel performance.

You will help guide the company’s evolution toward digital marketing while maintaining effective catalog, trade show, and other established programs. The scope spans multiple business lines, each with distinct customers, buying cycles, and competitive dynamics.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys developing people and translating marketing data into practical business decisions.

What You Will Lead

Team leadership: Provide direction, coaching, prioritization, and performance management for an experienced team of designers, a copywriter, and an exhibits coordinator.

Digital marketing and measurement: Use CRM, CMS, e-commerce, and web analytics platforms to evaluate campaign ROI, improve channel performance, and guide marketing investment.

Integrated campaigns: Coordinate catalogs, digital content, e-commerce initiatives, and trade shows while maintaining a consistent brand message.

Marketing planning: Help develop and execute the annual marketing plan with clear priorities and measurable objectives.

Market intelligence: Translate customer trends, competitive activity, and market research into recommendations leadership can act on.

Cross-functional partnerships: Collaborate with sales on important bids and proposals and with product management on launches and customer engagement.

What Makes This Role Compelling

  • An experienced team already in place. You will inherit a capable group with strong tenure and valuable institutional knowledge.
  • Direct access to senior leadership. Reporting to a Vice President with deep business experience, you will receive structured onboarding, regular touchpoints, and meaningful exposure to the company’s departments, customers, and vendors.
  • Ownership with support. You will contribute to marketing planning and industry events while building your understanding of the business.
  • Potential for career advancement. Success in this role can position you for broader leadership responsibility.
  • Work with a meaningful purpose. The company helps institutions operate effectively and better serve their communities.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • At least five years of progressive marketing leadership experience, with demonstrated contributions to revenue growth.
  • At least two years of direct experience managing and developing a team.
  • Hands-on proficiency with e-commerce platforms, CMS, CRM, and web analytics tools such as GA4.
  • The ability to connect creative work with measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to influence across departments.
  • Experience in B2B SaaS, publishing, or manufacturing is preferred. Exposure to institutional, education, or public-sector customers is also valuable.

Compensation and Location

The position offers a competitive base salary based on experience and qualifications, plus benefits. Relocation assistance, if needed, will be discussed individually with qualified candidates.

This leadership role is on-site in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, five days per week.
