As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in optimizing manufacturing operations by leading equipment improvements, driving capital projects, and implementing engineering solutions that increase efficiency, reliability, and safety. You’ll partner closely with operations, maintenance, automation, and leadership teams while working in a highly collaborative environment where your contributions have a direct impact on production performance. What You’ll Do
- Lead initiatives to improve the reliability, efficiency, and performance of manufacturing and packaging equipment.
- Design and implement mechanical systems, including fluid handling, heating/cooling systems, piping, and structural modifications.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, perform root cause analyses, and develop long-term solutions that reduce downtime.
- Manage capital projects from concept and design through installation, commissioning, and startup.
- Develop and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation using AutoCAD and other engineering tools.
- Partner with maintenance, operations, automation, and production teams to improve equipment performance and maintenance strategies.
- Ensure equipment and projects comply with FDA, HACCP, and food safety regulations.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives that increase throughput, improve operational efficiency, and reduce risk.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Three to seven years minimum of engineering experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience troubleshooting and improving mechanical equipment and manufacturing systems.
- Strong project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams across engineering, maintenance, and operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in food, beverage, ingredient, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of sanitary equipment design and hygienic manufacturing practices.
- Experience with powder or bulk ingredient handling systems.
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience.
